Would you like to email your customers? You can export your customers in the Admin Console three different ways, depending on who you want to send to:
- Under “Customers” > “Export to file” you can export a complete list of all your customers with all their information. If you want to email them, you can copy out the email column. We recommend using a service like ConstantContact.com, SwiftPage.com or MailChimp.com to do the sending, because they have safeguards against getting marked spam, etc. Or OmegaNet can send them for you for a reduced rate from our usual prices.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The OptOut column (column AK) is where people tell you they prefer not to be contacted. If it says “1”, that means they answered “Yes, I want to opt out” and you shouldn’t send mass email to them. However, you can still send individual emails to them. If column AK says “0” (zero) it’s OK to send whatever you want.
- If you want just those who have registered during a particular time period, you can use the “Filtered User Report” under “Customers” to set beginning and ending dates. You can also limit that list by Store Type and State. Opt-outs are also included in this report.
- If you just want to send to registrants who have placed an order during a certain period of time, go to “Sales History Reports” > “Sales Reports” and between the two calendars, click “Start/End dates”, then select your starting and ending dates from the calendars. You can then click on any of the reports and the results will be limited to your dates, but the best one is the first one “Registered customers who have ordered on the web”. You can then download the Excel file and your will have pertinent info including the email address on everyone who actually ordered during your date limits.
NOTE: Opt-outs don’t come through in this report, but if the store has ordered from you, they should not consider email from you to be spam.
The Sales Reports have a lot of other features. If you haven’t been using them, check them out.
