Adding Images for Word Press retail web sites:
WordPress can accept images in the .jpg, .png and .gif format. In the Word Press Admin Console select Media then click on Add New. Choose the file from your computer and then click on the Upload button. Several images can be uploaded at once by either dragging and selecting multiple files (click on Drop files here or Select Files).
To add this image to a product already in the the database click on Products in the sidebar, Search by SKU number in the top right hand corner and click on the Edit button below the product. You are now looking at the product record on the server. Scroll down to the bottom right of the screen and click on Set Featured Image (you may also change the image by clicking on Remove Product Image), click on the image in the Media Library and then click Set as Featured Image. Be sure and click on the Update button.

Prepare and Import the Product Images
Ideally, product images should include one item or SKU and be named with the exact SKU number. If that is the case, nothing is required in Column U of the spreadsheet (see above). Note: In the case where the image is named differently from the SKU number then the image name must be in Column U.
Example:for Product SKU is ABC1234, image name would be “ABC123.jpg”. Here are examples of image names that would NOT work.
- Abc1234.jpg (lower case letters do not match the uppercase letters of the SKU)
- ABC 123.jpg (with a space. Besides not matching the SKU, spaces are illegal in filenames for many computer systems and so are not wise to use.)
- ABC123-Red.jpg (the descriptive word “Red” is not part of the SKU)
If your product images include more than one SKU, you will need to include the name of the image in the spreadsheet for all SKUs pictured in the image. The name of the image can be anything, but must exactly match the image name in Column U of the spreadsheet.
Image Type
Only .jpg images are accepted on the CAMEO EZ image server. If you are using images that were created for your catalog, chances are they are CMYK and will need to be converted to RGB. Do not upload PNG (.png) or GIF (.gif) formats because they do not translate correctly when they are Processed by the Image Processor.
Image Size
Some file types will be larger in file size than others. Images that are larger than 2 (two) megabytes (2,000 kilobytes) may not import.
Image Dimensions
Because the Image Processor creates thumbnails and full-size images from your single imported image, you will want to create your images as large as possible, while keeping in mind the 2 MB limit mentioned in “Image Size” above. In the Admin Console under Account Setup, you can set the sizes for the small, medium and large images.
Importing Images
In the Admin Console under “Image Manager” choose Batch Import. You can upload up to 10 images at a time. Click on Upload Images when you have selected all of the images. The next step is to select Process Images and then click on Process Images Now. Images are not associated with SKU numbers until the Item Spreadsheet is uploaded.
You can upload several images at a time by using the File Manager in the admin console. Click on File Manager, Manage Files and then Click Here to use the CAMEO EZ File Manager. Double click on the images folder and then double click on the import folder. Click on the image in the navigation bar that looks like a disk drive with a blue up arrow above it. Click on flashupload and click on Add File(s). A box will appear on the left hand side of the page. Find the images in your stored documents. Once you find the images you can Shift + Click on several images at once. Click on the Open button at the bottom right of your documents file and the images will be appear in the box and ready to upload. Click on Upload File(s) and the images will be uploaded to the server. We have become aware of an issue relating to the “Flash Upload” feature of the File Manager. It may not work in all browsers because of changing support for Adobe Flash, which has fallen into disfavor and isn’t supported at all on iOS devices. If you have large numbers of files to upload, you should use an FTP client such as FileZilla. Information from the support site about using FTP is here.
Alternate Product Images
There are a couple of ways of adding alternate or secondary images on a CAMEO EZ wholesale site, depending on what you want to do. You can either display a different image on the Large Image popup or you can display the same image on the popup, plus one or more alternate images.
METHOD ONE – Large Image Different From Thumbnail
You can upload alternate images for a product that will appear in the view details pop up window on your website. You need to make the alternate image the same size as you have set for the Large Image in Admin > Image Manager > Image Configuration. The Image Processor will not resize the alternate image.
You will be overwriting the large image created by the Image Processor when you uploaded the product image. The image must be named like the image you are replacing in the imgLarge folder. For example, a large image is named “Item3489.jpg.jpg” if the original image in the /images/import folder is named “3489.jpg”. Name your new alternate image that you want to be seen in the pop up window Item3489.jpg.jpg and save it on your computer.
You can use FTP or the File Manager in the admin console to upload your image. Double click on the images folder and then click on the ImgLarge folder. You may need to first delete the existing image(s). In the ImgLarge folder find the image named Item3489.jpg.jpg and click on it. It is OK to right-click and delete this image as you will be uploading a replacement image. Now click on the icon that looks like a disk drive with blue up arrow over it. Browse and upload the new large image (for example, Item3489.jpg.jpg). Once you upload the image a Successful message will pop up in green above the image uploader. Go to your CAMEO EZ website and reload the page. Click on the “View Details” link below the image and the new alternate image will appear in the pop up window.
IMPORTANT: Never use the “Force an update of all images” feature in the Image Manager > Process Images once you upload the alternate product Image in the pop up window UNLESS you have the alternate images that you can re-upload.
METHOD TWO – Multiple Alternate Images
Multiple images can appear in the pop up window, too. Name the different product images you want to appear in the pop up/view details window this way: “SKU_2.jpg”, “SKU_3.jpg”, “SKU_4.jpg” and so forth up to “SKU_8.jpg. Your alternate images will appear in the order you name them in the pop up window. Of course you will replace “SKU” in the above examples with the actual SKU number. If the SKU is ABC123, then the alternate images will be “ABC123_2.jpg” through “ABC123_8.jpg”.
Upload your alternate images to the /images/import/ folder just like your regular product images. Upload these images using FTP or the File Manager with either the standard upload (flash upload doesn’t work because Adobe Flash is no longer supported by browsers) or the Batch Upload in the Admin under “Image Manager” (see Importing Images above).
The code to display these images is not in the default thumbnail page script. It will need to be added to your site by OmegaNet. Contact OmegaNet support to have us do this for you.
Adding images for ZenCart retail web sites
An OmegaNet, Inc. client who has a CAMEO EZ wholesale site and a ZenCart retail site actually share images. The images are first uploaded to the CAMEO EZ wholesale site and ZenCart is programmed to pull those images to the ZenCart site thus saving our clients time.
The images for Zen Cart retail sites are either noted in column B of the spreadsheet or uploaded when the new product is created in the Zen Cart dashboard. To add a new product login to the ZenCart dashboard and click Catalog in the navigation bar. Click on Categories/Products and click on the category where the new product is to be added. Click on new product and add the information about the new product. Scroll down to the Products Image: to Or, select an existing image file from server, filename: and type in the image name for the product (for example sku.jpg). Scroll down the product page and click on the Preview button and then click on Insert.
