Instructions for Setting Up Your Basic Retail Web Site
The Admin Console:
Many of the features of CAMEO EZ are used by Retail sites as well as Wholesale ordering sites. Some features are specific to Retail sites only, ignore the others.
The address of the Admin Console is:
https://admin.cameoez.comYou will be taken to a login screen. If you do not know your login and password, contact OmegaNet. The Admin Console is where you will manage your web site day-to-day, so be sure to save this page to your favorites. Remember, some features do not apply to Retail Sites. Especially in the beginning, the only ones that you will really deal with are Billing Options, Feature Options and Manage Encryption.
Account Setup Button
Authorize.net Setup: Authorize.net is an outside service that enables web credit card orders to online authorize and go directly into your existing merchant bank account. This feature is not activated in the Admin Console at present, but OmegaNet personnel can help you subscribe to this service if you need it. You do not need a service like Authorize.net if you do not plan to process the credit cards online, but simply run them in your store like an in-store purchase.
Paypal.com Setup: Another popular web payment system is Paypal. It’s advantage is that it allows payment by credit card or from a bank account without having a merchant account and a service like Authorize.net. The disadvantage is that the customer’s credit card is not confirmed and the funds are not automatically transferred.
SSL Setup: This is only used if you are not using the shared certificate provided for all CAMEO EZ users. If you want your own certificate, contact OmegaNet for help in purchasing and installation. A private security certificate cost between $250-$450 additional.
Billing Options: Simply checkmark the payment methods you will accept online.
Feature Options: Checkmark the features that you wish to include on your website
- Show Item’s Weight: Displays the Weight column in the spreadsheet (see the Spreadsheet Instructions for more information).
- Show Item’s Dimensions: Displays the contents of the Dimensions column in the spreadsheet.
- Show Quick Order: This is from Group pictures with multiple SKUs per image.
- Show Keyword Search: This will display a Search blank in the page header.
- Verify Credit Card Number During Checkout: Check this if you are using Authorize.net or another service to approve and charge credit cards online in real time.
- Require CVV2 Credit Card Information: Checking this requires the customer to enter the three- or four-character code on the back of the credit card when they enter their payment information.
- Use colors designed for pages with dark backgrounds: This will change the background and font colors of the shopping cart so they display better on a dark background.
- Show thumbnails in the cart: Thumbnail images of items ordered will appear in the shopping cart if you check this option.
- The other items in the Feature Options List do not apply to Retail Web Sites
Email Notification
Required Settings: Enter the email address here that you would like to receive the automatic email notifications of orders.
Orders Receipt: Fill in the blanks to create a Subject and Message to be included in the auto-response email your customers will receive. The content of their order will be included in the email automatically.
Image Manager
- Image Configuration: Here you can decide the sizes (in pixels) you’d like your product images to be. Three sizes are created from each product image uploaded. We recommend setting those at 150 x 200, 250 x 300, 500 x 550.
- Browse Images: (See the images you’ve uploaded and processed. Click the “S”, “M”, or “L” to see the existing small, medium and large images that have been created).
- Upload Image: Use this uploader to send a single product image and associate it with a SKU.
- Batch Import: Send as many as 10 product images (.tiff or .jpg) at a time.
- Process Images: After uploading images (or a new spreadsheet) you must take this step to create the three sizes of images for the web site. If you change your image configuration (sizes), you should click “Force update of all images”, otherwise only new images are processed.
-
Specific to Retail sites only is a menu button on the left of the Admin Console titled “Retail Setup” with the following items:
- Add/Edit Manufacturer (Library)
- View all active items
- Preview Retail Listing
- Rebuild data
Setting Up the Products in Your Retail Site
There are three basic methods for adding products to your web site. You may choose to use one, two or all three methods.
Method 1: Select from the CAMEO EZ Library by Picture or SKU.
Click the “Retail Setup” button. Then click “Add/Edit Manufacturer (Library)”At the top of the page, are links to manufacturers by the first letter of the company name. Click on a letter to find a manufacturer by its name or you can use “Search Manufacturer”. On each page of manufacturers you will see:
Preview Add manufacturer name 311 Products 311 images
Probably the most popular and quick way to add the item pictures and information to your web site is to use the “I Know the SKU number…” feature. “I Know the SKU number…” is located at the bottom of the page below the “Preview the Line” list. Type in the SKU or Item Numbers (in caps) on the list. You can enter 10 at a time. Then select MSRP pricing or set a percentage of mark up (this can also be edited individually later). Click “Add Line” to finish adding by SKU. If you have more than 10 to add, repeat the process above.
If you prefer, you can select the items from viewing the pictures. Click “Preview” next to the manufacturer’s name. You will next see a list of the Categories (or Lines) of the manufacturer. Click “Preview the Line” to see pictures of the items in the line. Check “Sell this item” for all items you wish to add to your web site. Before moving to another page, click “Update Your Product Selections” at the bottom of the page.
Rebuild Data: The products will appear on your web site after you click “Rebuild Data” under the “Retail Setup” button. Prices will be set to 200% of the wholesale price (This can also be edited individually. See “How Can I Assign My Own Prices” below).
Method 2: Add Items by Description or by Entire Lines.
Probably the quickest and most simple way to add a Manufacturer’s item pictures to your site is to Add the Entire Line. Click the “Retail Setup” button. Then click “Add/Edit Manufacturer (Library)”.Select the manufacturer from the alphabetical list, then click “Add manufacturer name”. You can then select from a list of Categories or Lines for the manufacturer. The next page will show all the products in the line, with descriptions, MSRP and wholesale prices. Select individual products by checking the boxes to the right of the items. You can also click “All” at the top of the checkbox column to select all of the items in the line. And you can click again to remove that item from the selection. When you are finished, click “Update Selection”. The products will appear on your web site after you click “Rebuild Data”.
How Can I Assign My Own Prices?
This is also where you can edit the prices by individual items, assigning your own prices instead of using the percentage increase or the MSRP. But you must remove the 200 and add your chosen retail price in the Price column.Method 3: Construct a Spreadsheet.
Retail Web Sites can also utilize the CAMEO EZ Item Spreadsheet to add products. This method must be used for products that are not in the CAMEO EZ Library, such as specialty items such as food items.Refer to the instructions for creating and importing the spreadsheet. Enter your retail price in the MSRP column (column Y). If you want to us this method, download the CAMEO EZ Sample Spreadsheet and Instructions from www.cameoez.com.
Refer also to the information for uploading manufacturer images.
Combining Methods 1 and/or 2 with Method 3
It is also possible to include products that have been selected by Methods 1 or 2 in the spreadsheet. In order to do so, you must have Microsoft Office 2003 or XP, plus download Microsoft’s .NET Framework and a special CAMEO EZ retail plugin.Once they are downloaded and you have installed them on your computer, open Excel. You should have a button that says “Cameo EZ” in your Excel toolbar. Click the button and the products you selected from the Library will appear in the spreadsheet in the format of the CAMEO EZ spreadsheet. Not all the information is displayed in the spreadsheet, since it is pulling the product information from the manufacturer’s database. You can now make changes to the information including Categories, Item Names and Descriptions, and Prices.
A feature of Excel is the colored triangles in the upper left corner of cells where you have changed information. Moving your mouse over those triangles allows you to see the original values in the manufacturer’s data and change back if you want to.
Once you have the spreadsheet like you want it, you can save it to your computer, then you can import it using the Item Manager in the Commerce Console. If you have also previously uploaded a spreadsheet of your own, you must combine the two spreadsheets and import them together or the previously imported items will be inactivated. To combine the spreadsheets, open both spreadsheets, highlight the rows with the products in one spreadsheet, click Edit ‘ Copy (or CTRL C) then click in the upper left cell of the row where you want to paste the data. Click Edit ‘ Paste (or CTRL V). Then import the combined spreadsheet.
How to Delete Items
Under “Retail Setup” the link “View All Active Items” allows you to see all the items currently on your web site. You can delete items from your site by clicking the “delete” link to the right of the list.
The items in “Preview Retail Listing” are loaded from your “Pending” selections list. If you have not run the Rebuild process, this data will not reflect what is on your website.
